NAMING JALEN HOLSTEN AS BOYS VOLLEYBALL DIRECTOR
St. Louis Crossfire Elite Volleyball has announced the return of boys volleyball and the hiring of Jalen Holsten as the Boys Volleyball Director. After a three-year hiatus with boys volleyball caused primarily by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are excited to provide this opportunity for young men looking to play at the advanced level that club volleyball offers.
"Jalen is a very talented guy with a lot of great experience and we are fortunate to have him join our staff,” said James Egbert, Co-Owner and Global Operations Director for Crossfire. “This is the right time for us to re-open our boys division and Jalen will provide a lot of enthusiasm and quality training in his new role.”
Jalen brings an excellent set of personal values to the Crossfire family. “Working with kids became a calling to me at a fairly early age. I love to have fun, especially when helping kids achieve something that they have never done before. I remember so many influential coaches that made me who I am as a person, and I
hope I can be that positive influence to the kids I work with now.”
Jalen started playing volleyball at 14, with club stints at High Performance and St. Charles United. Francis Howell
High School offered the opportunity for Jalen to pursue his passion on the boys’ volleyball team, which led to a scholarship to Hope International University. He was able to grow as a player as well as educationally and spiritually. After two years at Hope International University, Jalen returned to his home state to finish his college career at Missouri Valley College. In his senior
year, Jalen led his team to the NAIA National Championship tourney for the first time in school history.
Previous coaching experience:
- Cal State Fullerton Club Volleyball Team
- Missouri Baptist University's Men's and Women's JV Volleyball Teams
- Francis Howell High School Boys Volleyball
Jalen has a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health and works in Special Education.
